When do you upgrade technology?

Computer technology has been accelerating at a pace that is related to Moore?s Law, where processor speed doubles every 18 months ? 2 years. Software vendors like Microsoft and Apple have taken advantage of the increasing processor speed by adding more features and capabilities to computers, thus enhancing the overall computer experience for the users. The ?Moore?s Law? is also understood and exploited by hardware and software manufacturers alike who spend a great deal of time and marketing money convincing everyone that they need to upgrade to brand new computers with all the new bells and whistles. After all, if no one upgrades, they won?t sell any products!
