Part-time Reference Librarian
Westfield State University

The university seeks applications for a Part Time position for 24 hours per week beginning in September 2012. The library has an OPAC (Voyager), supports a multi-platform computer environment, and is committed to increasing access to electronic databases.

The position requires two weekday evenings and Sundays in Reference and Information Services Department.

Schedule:
Tuesday 3pm-9pm
Wednesday 9am-1pm
Thursday 3pm-9pm
Sunday 1pm-9pm

Duties:
Provide direct Reference services including patron assistance and instruction in the use of online databases.

Create and maintain library web pages as needed.

Opportunity to participate in the Information Instruction program.

This position pays $21 per hour and has no fringe benefits.

Minimum Qualifications
MLS/ALA, one year reference experience, computer literacy in a multi-platform environment, and ability to work effectively in a team setting.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in web page development and information instruction.
