Chicago-based BDO USA, one of the nation?s largest accounting and consulting firms, has named John Kyriakides Long Island assurance office business line leader.
Kyriakides, a member of the firm?s private equity and retail consumer product practices, is now responsible for overseeing the Melville assurance practice, including overseeing professionals and managing client and prospect relationships.
BDO USA CEO said his ?experience with the largest private and public company clients in our Long Island office will be a tremendous asset in his new role.?
Kyriakides, 47, has more than 25 years of public accounting experience in industries including retail, distribution, manufacturing, technology and health care.
He advises public and private companies in all aspects of assurance services, including financial statement audits, business consulting, mergers and acquisitions and initial and secondary public offerings.
Kyriakides succeeds Cindy McLoughlin, who in 2008 took the helm of the Long Island office?s audit practice, and last month announced she was leaving the firm.
BDO for its fiscal year ended June 30 reported an 8 percent jump in revenue to $618 million, boosted by a 9.9 percent increase in tax, a 5.7 percent increase in assurance and a 36 percent increase in consulting.
